Best beaches on Ometepe: Santo Domingo and Playa Mangos
Ometepe's lakefront is not one interchangeable beach. Playa Santo Domingo and Playa Mangos have different settings and work best when chosen around your lodging and transport.
What you can experience
Playa Santo Domingo offers a lakeside base with accommodation nearby. Playa Mangos is associated with views towards Concepción Volcano and, when offered, kayak outings towards the Istián River.
How to plan access
Choose the beach closest to your route and arrange transport back before setting out. When pairing it with Ojo de Agua or Charco Verde, group visits by area instead of crossing the island repeatedly.
