Carazo's visitor references include Diriamba and Jinotepe, the Pacific coast at La Boquita, Casares and Huehuete, and Chacocente Wildlife Refuge. Town visits and coastal conservation require different plans.

Explore an urban centre first, then choose a particular beach or protected coastal area. Chacocente deserves an approach respectful of wildlife, while the beaches have their own road entrances and services.
How to get around
Confirm the road to the exact coastal settlement rather than navigating only to Carazo Department. A reserve visit may require particular authorisation or accompaniment.
